Drug Class and Mechanism
Melatonix Sleep Aid is used to help patients who have sleep-onset insomnia (difficulty falling asleep) fall asleep more quickly.
Melatonix Sleep Aid promotes sleep by depressing the neural activity of the brain, reducing the time required to fall asleep, decreases the number and length of nighttime awakenings, and increases total sleep time compared to a placebo.
The tranquillising action of Melatonix Sleep Aid is perfect for calming the nerves. The substance Melatonix Sleep Aid acid inhibits the breakdown of GABA, a chemical transmitter in the brain, which helps to decrease activity in the nervous system. This in turn induces you to sleep, promotes a deeper, more relaxing restful sleep.
